HISTORY NUVOLARI - JANUARY

The Month of Silence, Preparation, and Vision, Curated by Fabio Castagna, Head of the Digital Bank, in collaboration with Giuseppe Pottocar, Director of the Tazio Nuvolari Museum.

January, in the world of racing, is not the month of roaring engines, but of anticipation. For Tazio Nuvolari, it was often a time away from circuits and official competitions, yet never an empty one. When he was not racing, Tazio observed, studied, and planned.

Winter became his silent training ground: a period in which he honed his physical condition, analyzed machines and rivals, experimented with technical solutions, and nurtured that instinctive vision that would make him unique. Every pause became preparation, every moment of waiting a future advantage.

January reveals the less visible, perhaps more authentic Nuvolari: the man before the champion, the athlete who turned rest into strategy and calm into absolute focus. It was during this seemingly motionless month that his ability to master every terrain, every vehicle, and every challenge was forged.

And while everything seemed still, Tazio was preparing the impossible: the idea of taking part in a race that combined cars and skis, buying them himself and wearing them for the first time, just to take the start and demonstrate, once again, that for him there were no limits. Indeed, a few weeks later, in February, that vision took shape among snow and treacherous curves, when Nuvolari won the I Criterium Invernale Autosciatorio at Bellori – Bosco Chiesanuova, challenging and surpassing the boundaries of history and cementing his name among the greats of European motorsport.

In February, in the next story,
you will discover how our Champion turned a bold vision into a legendary triumph,
claiming a trophy destined to enter history.
